The Do’s and Don’ts of Pool Automation

Pool automation is a sophisticated piece of pool equipment. The automation controllers are supposed to help you navigate the controls of your pool area equipment online or virtually or just with a remote or your mobile phone. If you are considering getting pool automation soon or have gotten one, you need to be able to use it properly to maximize its advantages and avoid pool equipment repair services any time soon. Here are some do’s and don’ts tips for your pool automation equipment:

Do’s

  1. Do your research before you install your pool automation system.

If you are new to pool automation, you should first read about how it works. Also, it is important to find the best brands and models. After that, you read the manual, or you call your local pool equipment repair and installation expert if you have questions.

  1. Explore and use all the functions

The reason why you are getting this equipment is to centralize control in your pool area in a smaller, portable device. Since you are installing one for your home, why not use all the functions you can use from it? You cannot only control the pool pump, pool heater, and pool lighting but also the landscape lighting, automatic pool cover, and security functions. Ask your pool automation installer all the possible functions you can include in the system.

  1. Find the best position for your antenna

Your antenna is a very important component of your pool automation system. It sends signals from the internet connection of your home to your smartphone, computer, or tablet. Thus, it is necessary to have this placed in the area where it can get the strongest connection. Do not put it inside the automation box because high voltage can interrupt or affect the reception.

Don’ts

  1. Do not forget about electrical safety.

Pool automation requires electricity to work. The bonding and grounding requirements must be treated properly. This will avoid any safety issues later or every time it is turned on. Remind your professional installer about it because sometimes, they are not careful about cross-wiring.

  1. Do not splice the wirings

The flow of connections should be intended to be smooth because that is the whole point of automating. Thus, you can avoid your signals to be compromised or lines to be dropped by making sure that you have enough wires for the distance they are needed to be. While splicing wires can work if done properly, these can also deteriorate faster when exposed to humidity or moisture. Avoid all the trouble in the beginning so you will not need pool equipment repair anytime soon.

  1. Do not program conflicting functions

If you are new to this, you may be conflicted about the functions. Worse, you may install programs or functions that conflict or are redundant. You need to understand these functions and make sure that you only have one for each. Make sure that a program goes through successfully before re-entering it again. You do not want to need pool equipment repair right after installing the system because of the cost, time, and effort it takes.  For the best pool equipment repair company in Orlando, visit us.
